Our New Little Gem: The Streamliner Caravan

This has got to be one of THE coolest caravans! This little retro bullet is simplicity at its best. It’s set in our idyllic grounds in a secluded spot with superb rural views

Spacious, bright and airy:
As a 4-birth, its size is amazingly deceptive, and as you enter, there is a wonderful feeling of space, with its bright and airy interior. The working windows and roof vents help this even further.

It boasts one double bedroom with a gorgeously comfortable memory foam mattress, and an additional double in the main part of the caravan that quickly transforms into a delightful dining area for four.

Fits our ‘Green’ Ethos:
The caravan is as green as it is silver, and we’re proud to say it utilises very little energy, other than its gas hob, and battery lighting. All other facilities required are a stone’s throw away, which include hot showers, toilets, fridge and freezer space, as well as fresh water to take back to the accommodation. There’s even a washing machine and tumble dryer that guests can use too. Nocturnally, there is an eco-toilet just a few steps away.

Great storage:
The storage is so well planned, and includes lots of hanging space in the built-in wardrobes and coat hooks, and there is ample storage in the kitchen, as well as the adorable vintage fridge finding its new forte as a kitchen cupboard.

Fully furnished:
Other than your culinary delights, everything that is required is provided to guests that stay in the caravan, which includes bedding, crockery and cutlery.

So this impressive caravan has a lot to offer, and is one-of-a-kind. It’s made for living in, and is very homely.

A tempting experience?
If you’d like to experience this little treasure, which includes full use of all onsite facilities such as the indoor heated pool, sauna, games lodge, BBQ area, and lots more, please get in touch.

Keeping It Green and Sustainable

BrownCowBeing environmentally friendly, and contributing towards sustainability in our area is important to us at Lancombe.

So what are we doing to be green, and supportive of our local community?

The water at Lancombe Country Cottages is pure Dorset water and therefore is bright, clear and clean. It is pumped from our very own boreholes, each 97metres deep; it is then stored in our 6000 litre glass fibre storage tanks, then filtered and UV treated prior to use. The water is regularly sampled and checked by our Local Authority, with no requirement to have it chemically treated in water treatment plants. Out water miles are very low, as it is not transported for miles before it’s used, consequently the local environment does not suffer.

Our Accommodation

The accommodation at Lancombe makes use of the water; and in some instances, for example with our glamping experiences, these are almost totally sustainable; with compost toilet, solar lighting, external fire pits and wood burning stoves.

Our 12 chickens offer free range eggs for our guests. They are therefore, fresh and locally sourced.

Local produce

We do our very best to source local produce for guests, and stock this in our shop. We are committed to lowering our food air miles, and boost local trade.

We recycle everything we can, and we ask our guests to do the same.

We’ve got a lot more green initiatives underway, and we do ask our guests to get involved to.

When visiting Lancombe, we encourage our guests to:

  • Reuse and recycle everything possible
  • Experience and taste as much local produce as possible
  • Switch-off when not in use
  • Read about the countryside code by clicking here: The Countryside Code

Enjoy a green holiday!

Do you have a Christmas Cracker in store?

Every family is different, but there are some common reasons that stir up debate; under-the-breath comments or full on arguments at Christmas. We’re often all pulled together for this special occasion; crammed into a hot and stuffy lounge, and expected to get along like a house on fire. Anything here that you recognise?

  1. Where to spend Christmas day, my parents or yours?ChristmasFamily
  2. What to watch on TV
  3. The pressure of cooking Christmas dinner
  4. No one helping out
  5. Who cleans up after dinner
  6. Cheating over board games
  7. When to open presents
  8. Kids eating too much before dinner
  9. Not enough space for everyone
  10. Too many tipples prior to cooking dinner (= a dry old bird!)

I’m sure you’ll have your own to add to the list!

Here at Lancombe, we can’t wait to take the stress away, and give our guests a relaxing break with us during the Christmas period.

Throughout December, we’ll be (happily) up to our necks in all things festive, including:

  • Christmas decorations in all of our accommodation
  • Regular visits from Santa to Lancombe’s grotto, with pressies for the children
  • The option to have Christmas dinner cooked for you, by Lancombe, and delivered to your door for you and your family
  • Ability to pre-book your turkey
  • The shop will be stocked with everything you need for your break
  • The spa will be open for you to enjoy too

So to avoid Christmas quibbles, take a relaxing break with us. We are able to cater for smaller groups, as well as large groups, with our many and varied accommodation options. It just might take away the strain of having to decide whose house you’re spending Christmas at… you can all come here!

Get in contact, and we can discuss your needs. Call Caroline on 01300 320562, or email
