Dorset in the summer: these are a few of our favourite things…
Dorset is a stunning location at any time of the year. During the summer months, it really comes alive, with so many opportunities to make the most of the beautiful scenery.
We asked our friendly locals what their favourite things about summer in Dorset are.
Here’s what they had to say.
The beaches…
“There are so many beautiful beaches to discover. See the beach huts, take a walk or simply soak up the sun. Tempt yourself with fish and chips or an ice cream. It is what a visit to the beach is all about.”
Healthy walks…
“See the picturesque scenery by taking a walk. There are so many options, whether you prefer a stroll or a bit more of a hike. Make it as energetic as you like while you take in the clean sea air and views. The kids will love exploring too.”
Speciality and gift shops…
“Taste some local produce or take home a souvenir from one of the many gorgeous and original shops. You never know what you might find!”
Mini golf…
“Great fun for all the family. Get competitive and see how good your golfing skills are. They could be above par!”
Enjoy nature…
“There are so many wonderful parks, lakes and nature reserves. Enjoy a day trip to truly discover these beautiful places.”
Lunch in a pub garden….
“Enjoy a pint of something cool in one of the many pubs. Take time out to chat with the locals and enjoy a meal. If you pick a coastal pub then the views will be amazing too.”
Why not come try it for yourself, and see what you think is best about Dorset in the summer?
