How To Have a Fantastic February Half Term

The Turkey is well and truly finished and the decorations are down.  Now’s the time to plan your next holiday, and there’s nowhere better to make the most of it than in Dorset.

So, book your half term holiday at Lancombe, with its warm indoor pool and a Complimentary Treasure Hunt in Half Term week.  But most importantly a holiday where you can be sure of a very warm welcome.  Then all you need to do is Plan your Fun Days Out from the Offers and Events below:

Baby it’s Cold Outside

Even if it’s cold, there are lots of activities to get some fresh air and exercise whilst entertaining the younger members of the family.  So why not wrap up warm and get those cheeks rosy with any one of these activities:

A Walk on the Wild Side – The South West Coast Path in Dorset has some beautiful Beaches and wonderful Walks.  You can choose long or short walks, those suitable for families and pet friendly walks.  Why not combine it with a nature trail?  Plan your perfect walk here:

Everybody Walk the Dinosaur – Make the most of the Jurassic Coast and take the children Fossil Hunting.  There’s plenty of Beaches in Dorset where you can find Fossils.  But if you want some help, why not join in on one of the Guided Walks from The Lyme Regis Museum and you may find your very own Dinosaur!  Make sure you can fit it in the car.

Little Donkey – Don’t worry if you don’t have a Four-Legged friend in the family, just a very short distance from Lancombe, you can take a Donkey for a walk.  Don’t worry, if you do have your own Pet, well behaved Dogs are welcome to join in.

Ticket to Ride -Take a night time Bike Ride at Moors Valley Country Park on Monday 13th February.  This is an opportunity to explore the Forest with a qualified instructor to guide the way, with hot chocolate and a treat at the end. Booking is essential.

The Swanage Choo Choo – Take the family to Swanage Railway for their Half Term fun days with traditional Games, Face Painting, Storytelling and more! Why not stop off at Corfe Castle, where you can take along your own Teddy and dare them to try the fearsome Zip Wire challenge.

If it’s Wet, Don’t Give Up Yet!

As we know, the weather is never guaranteed in Britain, that’s why in Dorset, there is still so much to do inside.  Better still, you don’t need to break the Bank!!

Use the ‘Kid for a Quid’ offer at Monkey World, and see what funny trouble the Chimps are causing.

Durlston Country Park – Come and join bestselling children’s author Paul Stickland at his Pop Up Bug Shop, which is all part of the Purbeck Literary Festival.

In these fun events, Paul will be sharing his pop-up books and ideas and then teaching everyone to make amazing colourful pop up paper bugs to take home. While you’re there, take part in the Wild Bug Party on 16th February.

Petrol Heads Fill Up -Take a trip to the Haynes Motor Museum with over 400 amazing Cars and Motorcycles.  There is currently a Voucher Code offer, which if redeemed, 1 child goes FREE with a fee paying adult.

Hunt for Dinosaurs – The Great Dinosaur Hunt is happening throughout Half Term at the Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester. The event involves the whole museum and lets children explore and search out the answers to the clues of the dinosaur mystery.

Make a day of it and visit 5 of the Dorset Attractions for the price of 2 with a Gold Saver Pass.

The Tank Museum – Of course a trip to Dorset wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Tank Museum.  Throughout Half Term there’s Tonnes of Fun for Families!  Take part in a range of family activities. Kids can also let off steam in their outdoor play area and new inside soft play area.

The Plaza Cinema – In Dorchester the ticket prices are ONLY £2.50 Monday to Friday and £3.50 Saturday & Sunday for all seats with the latest films.

Oh, and whilst we’re saving you money, don’t forget Lancombe’s Returning Guest and Multiple Property Discounts.
